"Adventures, I used to call them. I used to think that they were things the wonderful folk of the stories went out and looked for, because they wanted them, because they were exciting and life was a bit dull...But that's not the way of it with the tales that really mattered, or the ones that stay in the mind. Folk seem to have just landed in them, usually...I expect they had a lot of chances, like us, of turning back, only they didn't. And if they had, we shouldn't know, because they'd have been forgotten."

Super moon, Moon festival, more waiting

Last night was the super moon.... which was also a lunar eclipse. The kids were all up to watch it. The moon rising was spectacular, but then the clouds rolled in. Thankfully they cleared up and we were able to see a lot of the eclipse and the blood moon.

It was also the moon festival in China. We are still learning about all these traditions and festivals in China. So there wasn't much celebrating for us, but we read about it and learned about it. We can't wait to celebrate with Zoey next year!

As for the waiting.... We send our dossier last week, and are waiting for it to be sent. Hoping to hear from our agency that its all been sent. The government is closed there for  another holiday, and we really wanted to get everything there before. But our paperwork snags and delays held us up and it sounds silly, but each day it doesn't get logged in, it delays us more than a day getting to her. And we still have a lot of steps left to go.

We still have our donation site up. It is tax deductible so you'll get a receipt via email to use on your taxes!

I had a lot of messages regarding my links in the last post. I didn't realize they didn't post correctly, so I'll try again. We have a fundraiser page set up through Adoption Bridge. Its a non profit and when you donate, you will get a receipt via email that you can use as a tax deduction. We appreciate any help that can be given for us.

Adoption Bridge Waiting for our girl in China! donation site

The bracelets in the post below can be purchased by emailing me at justplainbeckyw at yahoo dot com

As for our progress, we are expecting our dossier back from the embassy tomorrow (Weds), and we will be sending it off to China! And once we are DTC (dossier to China), we will reveal her name!!

We can't get there fast enough. Its so weird to miss someone you've never met. We know she's in good care, in a great foster home and loved. But we can't wait to get to her.

Setbacks and slowdowns

We've had a couple setbacks with our paperwork... .a couple dates were wrong and we had to redo a few documents before the Embassy in Chicago would accept them. So that means an additional week waiting for our dossier to return from the Embassy, pushing us a week back from submitting our dossier (DTC), and with our timeline cutting it close to Chinese New Year anyway, it looks like we won't travel until after Chinese New Year. Things are never going to go according to our timeline, but it still hurts a bit when you see your timeline smashed to pieces. When all you want is to get to your kid, it makes it even harder. We have a couple things going on to fundraise.... since we weren't planning on adopting, we need all the help we can get with funding! These bracelets are made by Mud Love, and they are amazing! Each bracelet sold provides water for a person in Africa! And they are custom made, so you can't get them on their website. And they help bring our sweet girl home! To purchase one, please email me at justplainbeckyw@yahoo.com
We also have a site set up for donations. It is tax deductible, so if you donate you will get a receipt via email that you can use on your taxes. Plus if you click the link you'll get to see a picture of our baby girl! http://adoptionbridge.org/families/waiting-for-the-girl-in-china And last, we have these GREAT t-shirts! Seek justice... love mercy... walk humbly. With our God. Proceeds benefit our adoption. **The shirt campaign has ended**
