"Adventures, I used to call them. I used to think that they were things the wonderful folk of the stories went out and looked for, because they wanted them, because they were exciting and life was a bit dull...But that's not the way of it with the tales that really mattered, or the ones that stay in the mind. Folk seem to have just landed in them, usually...I expect they had a lot of chances, like us, of turning back, only they didn't. And if they had, we shouldn't know, because they'd have been forgotten."

Back to school!

What a glorious time of year! :) I'm joking. Kind of. The kids all started back to school last week, and thankfully they all enjoy school and were looking forward to starting.

Al is in 6th grade this year. I still cannot believe he's that old. This is his first year in the middle school. He's still as confident as ever, and I know he'll do just as well in 6th grade as he has in the last 5.

Anth is in 2nd grade. This is his last year in the primary! He's my social guy and came home telling me about the new friends he made the first day. His teacher was impressed with his reading skills, and I love to watch him devour books and excitedly tell us all about them.

Alina started Kindergarten! Talk about being excited! This girl couldn't wait! Its been a bit tricky to get her therapies all figured out since she's in school full time now, but I think we have it. She's only missing a few minutes of school two days a week, the rest they got before or after school! So far, she loves school and is thriving. She's working really hard on her forearm crutches and doing very well with therapy.

Here is an obligatory first day of school pic. Anna carried her shoes around and was pretty miffed she wasn't able to get on the bus too. But she got over it when she realized she had mom all to herself all day. :)
