"Adventures, I used to call them. I used to think that they were things the wonderful folk of the stories went out and looked for, because they wanted them, because they were exciting and life was a bit dull...But that's not the way of it with the tales that really mattered, or the ones that stay in the mind. Folk seem to have just landed in them, usually...I expect they had a lot of chances, like us, of turning back, only they didn't. And if they had, we shouldn't know, because they'd have been forgotten."

Occupying our time

We had to send some new papers to EE the other day, they had three documents in our dossier from 2008 an 2009 (in our home study) that they wanted new notaries on. That was another fun shipping bill...ugh. It got there on Friday and if all goes well we will have a travel date this week or next. I've heard through the grapevine that today and Tuesday are holidays in EE, so nothing is being done today or tomorrow. We can only pray our dossier continued in process while waiting for thos ethree documents to get there. They asked for them on Monday and we had them there on Friday. :)

Meanwhile, we've been keeping busy. Swimming and having friends over to swim, four wheeler rides and bike rides, visiting friends and going to the lake, the zoo, and other fun outings. :)

Oh the life of a fat house cat!

And a skinny orange house cat (he usually sleeps IN the cushy booster thats behind him on the chair. Apparently he felt more comfortable smooshed beside it and hanging off and onto the chair.)

More cute things for Alina!

Jumping off docks...

Riding in boats....

Riding behind boats.....

Making 'lake salad' with friends...

Coveting the jet ski (that wasn't working!)

Playing at the zoo

And yes, this IS as good as it gets with 6 tired kids!

Its coming together!

Alina's room, that is! Decorator I am NOT! Actually I really really stink at decorating. :)

The dots on the wall are those vinyl wall stickies. Alexander picked them out today at the store. They go well, and are cute.

And yes, there is only one curtain on the window.... I haven't quite figured out what curtains to put up yet. :)

Girls got a serious doll collection already. :)

My Etsy shop is still open and will be until we travel! Help clear it out! If you would like a custom order you can email me or convo me through Etsy. I can do custom hats, dolls, cats, dresses, etc. Every sale helps bring Alina home!

SUBMISSION!

Oh my gosh, we are finally submitted! Our dossier has officially been submitted for Alina!

Now we wait again.... for an appointment date. It typically takes two weeks to get that date, and then our appointment date should be 2wks or so beyond that. So another month approx of waiting until we can go to our girl. :)

Praise God! We are coming baby girl!

Swept away

A friend gave me a CD titled 'Spirit of Adoption', and it contains many songs that make you sob like a baby while you wait for your child to come home. One song in particular, even thinking of the song, makes me tear up. I think she likes to make me cry... as she also gave me this adorable book that is about a little bear asking his Mama all about his adoption, and its very sweet.

These are the lyrics. It was written by Geoff Moore, who took his own experience with adoption and put it to song.

"Swept Away" by Geoff Moore

We would say your name
A hundred times a day
Like speaking words in faith
And with a mixture of
Hope and fear and trust
We prayed for the strength to wait
And dreamed of how we’d feel the day
You’d be in our arms and …

Swept away
Caught up in our love
Home to stay
You’ll never be alone
You’ll be amazed
As how much you are loved
Your life will never be the same
Once you’re swept away

What once was just a dream
Is now reaching up to me
And I hold her in my arms
Father thank You for the way
You held her all the days
That we had to spend apart
And now I see the impossible dream
Is holding me and I’m …

Swept away
Caught up in our love
Home to stay
You’ll never be alone
You’ll be amazed
As how much you are loved
Your life will never be the same
Once you’re swept away

Update

Because I'm super awesome at titles for my posts.

Apparently the first piece of paperwork that we sent to Alina's country asking for permission to send a dossier for her was invalid because at the time, she was not cleared for international adoption. Now that she is cleared (according to the emails flying about), a new form had to be submitted and approval received before our dossier can be submitted. Please pray its accepted, approved, and our dossier can be submitted for her next week. Its been there two months. Pray that the mountains are moved and we can get to our girl soon.

Three very special girls

They weigh heavy on my heart. If you've ever considered adoption, please consider special needs adoption, and please consider these three special girls, or any special needs child on Reeces Rainbow. There are so many children with very minor needs who wait. Needs like epilepsy, repaired cleft, missing fingers/toes, and CP like our Alina. These children need a family before age 4-6, as special needs children are sent to institutions once they reach that age.

Regina is 3yrs old and has epilepsy. She's an adorable little girl who wants a mom and dad of her own. She is smart, and able to walk, talk, get dress, self feed, and is potty trained.
Isn't she just gorgeous?

Sveta is also 3yrs old. Sveta is in the same orphanage as our Alina, and she waits because she is HIV+. To learn more about how manageable HIV has become, please visit www.projecthopeful.org

And this is my Vika, also in the same orphange as Alina. I really dislike this picture of her, but she is just a gorgeous little girl who's eyes are not as bad as this picture shows. Vika waits because she has CP, just like our Alina. She also has strabismus, again like Alina. Vika is walking, talking, and according to a family who was just there with their children, she is a lovable little girl who likes to laugh and dance.

Sveta and Vika both have Reece's Rainbow prayer warrior buttons located in my sidebar. Please grab them, add them to your blogs, and help advocate for them, and all special needs children who wait.

Visit www.reecesrainbow.org and click 'waiting children', and these three girls can all be found in 'Other Angels', along with many more children who wait.
