"Adventures, I used to call them. I used to think that they were things the wonderful folk of the stories went out and looked for, because they wanted them, because they were exciting and life was a bit dull...But that's not the way of it with the tales that really mattered, or the ones that stay in the mind. Folk seem to have just landed in them, usually...I expect they had a lot of chances, like us, of turning back, only they didn't. And if they had, we shouldn't know, because they'd have been forgotten."

Early Spring

These last few weeks have been so warm, in the upper 60's, even the mid 70's! In March! And April! Crazy right. Well one of the downfalls of an early Spring in Minnesota.... mom is NOT prepared! Our sprinkler pooped out, so what is just as good? Two little boys and a hose!

Then, in true boy fashion, they decided to wash their toys.

Which was taken very seriously (notice the tongue). :)

Today we are getting some much needed rain. Hopefully the warm weather will continue through the summer, as the boys are already asking to set up the pool!

But then again...

.. I am constantly reminded that things happen for a reason. Without beginning our adoption in Kyrgyz, I never would have known about John Wright and all the amazing work he and his family do. Without Kyrgyz I wouldn't have begun searching waiting child lists, allowing those children to be impressed on my heart, praying for them to find homes. Opening my eyes. Without Kyrgyz, I never would have met Hilary and her amazing family when they moved near me!

Everything happens for a reason, although understanding Gods timing and his reasoning for why things happen when they do is nearly impossible, I will no longer try to understand, but trust in the Lord. Trust that He knows what is best for us, trust that He impressed adoption into our hearts for a reason, and he has a plan for us.

I feel so dumb...

...when I read the posts from last year/18mos ago, when we first began our adoption. I feel so dumb because we were so naive, so blind! I wonder what we would have done if we knew that 2yrs later we'd be where we are. Would we still have started? We surely wouldn't have been so naive. Maybe we would have taken a different path. I just don't know. Its just so hard to imagine that its been almost 2yrs since we began our home study. Hind sight is always 20/20 I suppose.

We've been trying to plan a few things for this summer, a vacation or two, camping trips, etc. We are planning on taking the boys to South Dakota after school gets out! I'm sure this summer will fly by like every other.

Praying for Kyrgyzstan

My heart is still very much in Kyrgyzstan, I think about the children there, pray for the people there daily. Feel saddened that our journey ended there last year.

This last week, there have been riots in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. There are a few news articles on the web, CNN has some too. Its so heartbreaking to know that so many of these people will once again have to start from nothing, rebuild from nothing.

I was over at John Wright's blog this morning, as he is currently in Bishkek. He has some video and pictures.
Please keep the people of Kyrgyzstan in your prayers through these times.
