"Adventures, I used to call them. I used to think that they were things the wonderful folk of the stories went out and looked for, because they wanted them, because they were exciting and life was a bit dull...But that's not the way of it with the tales that really mattered, or the ones that stay in the mind. Folk seem to have just landed in them, usually...I expect they had a lot of chances, like us, of turning back, only they didn't. And if they had, we shouldn't know, because they'd have been forgotten."

A couple weeks ago, my sons Cub Scout troop got together at the city park building to make their pinewood derby cars. Afterwards, everyone was welcome to stay and go sledding on the hill at the park. What a great time! The weather was FANTASTIC, sunny and unseasonably warm. Dad took the boys up and down the hill for over an hour. I, of course, planted my feet at the bottom with camera in hand. :)

He had this look on his face every.time he came down the hill. He looked terrified, but was having a ball!

The boys coming down together. They totally dumped it about .04 seconds after I snapped this.

Dad and little A

All that snow flying up in the previous picture? This is the 'after'. LOL!

This picture CRACKS me up! They were about 2ft in the air here, and while it looks like little A is going to fall out, he didn't, he landed nice and softly on Dad's legs. Can't say the same for dad though... he had quite the bruise.

Having a ball!

Thumbs up for a great afternoon. They were ready for their hot chocolate!
